Google?s Bringing A Little Chrome To The iPad and iPhone

Google?s Chrome browser for Android has been burning up the scene since it debuted in early February, fast becoming one of our favorite browsers on the platform. With it finally leaving beta status this week, and becoming the default browser in Jelly Bean, Chrome?s mobile future has never looked brighter. As if all that wasn?t enough great Chrome news, now Google?s revealed that the browser is also making its way to iOS, with a version for the iPad and iPhone coming out today.

Full details on the release should be available shortly, and for now all we know is that these iOS versions should be full-featured editions of Chrome, complete with cross-device bookmark and session syncing. If it?s half as good as the Android version is, we?d say Apple users have good reason to be excited.

Update: It looks like we got a twofer on our hands, as Google has also announced Google Drive for iOS.

As for Chrome itself, due to Apple?s restrictions, iOS Chrome won?t feature Google?s Chrome-specific WebKit enhancements, nor the? V8 JavaScript engine. While that?s unfortunate, Chrome may still attract a good number of users thanks to its attractive interface and Google integration.
