Google?s Bringing A Little Chrome To The iPad and iPhone

Google?s Chrome browser for Android has been burning up the scene since it debuted in early February, fast becoming one of our favorite browsers on the platform. With it finally leaving beta status this week, and becoming the default browser in Jelly Bean, Chrome?s mobile future has never looked brighter. As if all that wasn?t enough great Chrome news, now Google?s revealed that the browser is also making its way to iOS, with a version for the iPad and iPhone coming out today.

Full details on the release should be available shortly, and for now all we know is that these iOS versions should be full-featured editions of Chrome, complete with cross-device bookmark and session syncing. If it?s half as good as the Android version is, we?d say Apple users have good reason to be excited.

Update: It looks like we got a twofer on our hands, as Google has also announced Google Drive for iOS.

As for Chrome itself, due to Apple?s restrictions, iOS Chrome won?t feature Google?s Chrome-specific WebKit enhancements, nor the? V8 JavaScript engine. While that?s unfortunate, Chrome may still attract a good number of users thanks to its attractive interface and Google integration.

New Egypt president has tight window on economy

CAIRO (Reuters) - Egypt's new president has a window of opportunity to pull the economy from the brink of disaster, but he will have to chart a careful path to convince a host of deeply skeptical players at home and abroad that his is a government they can trust.

After winning the country's first freely contested election for head of state, the Muslim Brotherhood's Mohamed Mursi, 60, brings with him strongly free-market policies that would delight investors were it not for Egypt's daunting economic challenges and fraught politics.

He also brings a detailed economic plan meticulously drawn up over the course of a year, supported by the Brotherhood's well organized political machine.

However, to spur growth and win over investors to trust Egypt for the long term, Mursi will have to restore stability to a country rocked by sometimes violent political turmoil in the 16 months since an uprising forced Hosni Mubarak from power.

To do this, he will have to build up a working relationship with generals who stripped the presidency of many of its powers in the week before the result of the presidential election was announced on Sunday.

He also faces the prospect of a new constitution to replace the current interim constitution which is vague on the full extent of presidential powers.

But analysts say the popular mandate handed to Mursi in the election makes it harder for political opponents to obstruct reforms he initiates.

"There is definitely a window of opportunity. I think there is goodwill out there because of the nature of the result, because it was a clear result," said one Western diplomat.

"If we get a cabinet that is broad based and brings in good economic expertise as well as people who have credibility outside Egypt, then ... it's probably quite good news in the short term," the diplomat said.

ECONOMY ON THE BRINK

Egypt's uprising hammered the economy by chasing away tourists and foreign investors and prompting government employees to strike for higher wages. The economy contracted by 4.3 percent in the first quarter of 2011 and stagnated in the following three quarters.

The Brotherhood's economic plan relies on private Egyptian and foreign investors and the group has pledged to move fast to negotiate a loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) once it forms a government.

"We trust Egypt but, with no security, investors will flee. Change is very hard and bumpy," said Adnan Ahmed Yousef, president of the Union of Arab Banks and chief executive of Bahrain-based Albaraka Banking Group.

An army-backed interim government kept the economy on the rails since Mubarak's overthrow through a series of short-term measures that have brought the country dangerously close to fiscal collapse.

These include financing a burgeoning budget deficit by selling domestic treasury bills and bonds at steadily rising interest rates and shortening maturities.

The pile of local currency debt has built up to well over 600 billion Egyptian pounds ($99 billion) from about 500 billion pounds just before the uprising.

The borrowing has stretched the lending ability of local banks, causing the average yield on 1-year T-bills to surge to almost 16 percent, its highest in more than a decade, from 10.4 percent in January 2011.

The interim government borrowed an additional $6 billion in T-bills denominated in U.S. dollars that the new government, strapped for foreign currency, will have to repay or roll over when the first begin maturing in November.

The interim government has also drawn down foreign reserves by more than half, to about $15.5 billion, to support the currency, partly out of fear that an increase in the cost of imported goods would fuel inflation and political discontent.

The dangerously low level of reserves has left the country with less than three months of import coverage.

Brotherhood officials have said that once a new government is in place they plan to pick up from the previous government's stop-start negotiations for a $3.2 billion IMF loan.

An IMF agreement could bring further billions in aid pledged by Arab and international donors - money that Mursi's election could help unlock.

HUNDRED DAYS

The IMF has made any loan conditional on a credible program to get the country's finances under control, that the program have broad domestic political support and that Egypt line up additional financing from foreign donors.

This could take months to pull together but, with so much short-term debt coming due in the second half of the year, the clock is ticking.

"To a large extent, it depends on who they've got, who they'll bring into the cabinet, who they'll bring in as finance minister. It will take a little bit of time to get clarity," the diplomat said.

"There is still a certain lack of clarity over the distribution of powers, and the risk - you don't have parliament to offer endorsement, you have the military involved in the economy."

Since the uprising, the Brotherhood has been putting together a detailed economic and social program called al-Nahda (The Renaissance).

The program aims to shore up the new administration's support among Egyptians though a 100-day campaign in five areas that yield immediate social benefits.

These include rapid measures to get the country's notoriously choked traffic flowing more efficiently, restore security and clean up piles of rubbish that have long blighted Egypt's streets.

Other measures would ensure that bottlenecks disrupting availability of subsidized bread, petrol and butane cooking gas are removed. With energy subsidies eating up as much as a quarter of the state budget, this could prove expensive.

The Brotherhood says it will gradually decrease subsidies on energy products used by industry.

It has said it will target subsidies on products such as gasoline and diesel so that they are directed to the poor.

Women want it all? It's time to fight for it

Former Obama administration official Anne-Marie Slaughter talks to TODAY's Natalie Morales about her controversial article in The Atlantic, which debates whether women can juggle high-powered careers and be good mothers at the same time.

By Eve Tahmincioglu

Women can have it all if they fight for what they need.

That was the message that came from a powerful woman who sparked a national debate last week about women and their success in the workplace and as mothers.

Anne-Marie Slaughter, a former U.S. State Department official and now a Princeton professor, spoke about her The Atlantic article, ?Why Women Still Can?t Have It All?, Monday on TODAY, and wanted to make it clear that her piece was not negative but more of a call to action to women struggling with balancing work and life.

?Women have come leaps and bounds,? she said about the advancements women have made in the workplace, ?but we need another round of change.?

Working mothers, she continued, make it to a point in their career where they?re beginning to climb the ladder of success, but then they end up feeling ?unbelievably torn? when family and work responsibilities clash.

Indeed, many women are questioning whether they can really have it all. An informal poll taken last week in an article about Slaughter?s story and the controversy that ensured, asked ?Do you think women can have it all?? found only 11 percent of the nearly 4,000 respondents felt it was possible, compared to 48 percent that offered a resounding ?no? to the question.

But in a sign of hope, 41 percent voted: ?Maybe, when the workplace changes.?

And it?s change Slaughter wants to see.

?We need to be honest about how hard it is,? she said about the first step women need to take. And secondly, she stressed, ?you have to ask for what you need. If you need to work from home, ask for it.?

In the end, she added, it?s all about a serious ?desire for change.?

Change needs to happen on a larger scale as well, maintained?Debra L. Ness, president of the National Partnership for Women & Families.?

"Most of America?s women and their families are confronted on a daily basis with the fact that ?having it all? is still a distant dream, and we know that it will not get better until our workplaces are family friendly," she said. "We need policies like paid sick days and paid family and medical leave for all workers, and all workers need the flexibility to be caregivers and breadwinners for their families."

Slaughter's article, she added, "should be a call to action for employers and lawmakers to finally address the growing demand for workplaces that meet the needs of 21st century families."

Daytrading, Stock Trading, Investing and Forex Trading ? Five Tips ...

What's daytrading? Day-trading is carried out by day traders who quickly purchase and sell stocks over a single day period in hopes that for the brief period over which they hold the stocks ( from only a few seconds to a few hours ) the worth may continue to climb or fall therefore permitting day traders to secure fast profits. How does one make profits? The strategy of selling and buying stocks over a particularly brief time period can create large losses or profits for the trader in just 2 minutes or hours. Statistics prove that 80-90% of all day traders make a loss at the end of each trading day. However daytrading has become a rocketing well-liked sort of trading lately due to the web and increased access to info. So while daytrading used to be a debatable sort of securities trading reserved in general to finance firms pro traders and a top-notch group of non-public stockholders it's now also extremely commonplace strategy of trading among casual traders. I also advocate a stocks pick programme which is focused on penny shares.

These are less expensive stocks with a gusto for going on extraordinarily fast profit-making jumps because they're easier influenced and influenced with less market action. It?s common to see one of those stocks jump to double or treble in price in a short time. The hard part is finding these stocks and separating them from the rest explaining why some stocks pick programs were designed with the point of only identifying these stocks, particularly. What they do is, they hold the stock for a minute or two to an hour and then sell them before the close of the day. You need to remember nonetheless that there are gain limits on a single share. Additionally, since the market moves a lot, it is crucial to maintain a record of your stock and your returns for the day. So , it's much better to purchase and offload often in the day.

As time rolls by you can start to add one or two more of them to your daily analyses. In this fashion, you'll be ready to appraise your performance and choose which day-trading method works best. Even if you're dependent on a great programme to help, there are parts of irregularity that they cannot establish for you. A good goal for you is to have 3 times more profit in place than what your maximum amount you are prepared to lose turns out to be. One zone of weakness for many with stock option daytrading is knowing when to get out.

Perhaps you are thinking about those day traders are just too fortunate to make some random profit in market. Understand your risk taking limitation and be conscious of the implications. It's a wrong idea as day traders shouldn't only understand the logic trading but they also must have a clear and calm perspective to make urgent call. Recently trading systems are available to average public users.

Moderate Exercise Can Lower Breast Cancer Risk: Study

Just a little bit of exercise is enough to decrease the risk of breast cancer, according to a new study.

However, University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill researchers said that the best way to lower your risk of breast cancer is to get to a healthy weight and maintain it.

The study, published in the journal CANCER, included 1,504 women who had breast cancer (233 of them had noninvasive breast cancer, while 1,271 people had invasive breast cancer), as well as 1,555 women who didn't have breast cancer. All of the women were between ages 20 and 98.

The researchers found that reproductive-age or postmenopausal women who reported exercising the most in the study -- between 10 and 19 hours each week -- were the ones who had the greatest decrease in breast cancer risk -- a 30 percent lower risk of the disease.

However, even women who exercised less than that seemed to have a decrease in breast cancer risk, especially for the hormone-receptor positive kinds of breast cancer.

And you don't have to be a marathoner or super-exerciser to reap the benefits -- researchers found that all levels of exercise intensity were linked with a decreased risk.

"The observation of a reduced risk of breast cancer for women who engaged in exercise after menopause is particularly encouraging given the late age of onset for breast cancer," study researcher Lauren McCullough said in a statement.

But the important thing is to maintain the healthy weight -- researchers found that if a woman stayed active but put on significant pounds, breast cancer risk increased -- suggesting weight gain can actually negate the positive effects of exercise.

Similarly, TIME magazine reported on a Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center study showing that women who experienced a moderate weight loss -- as a result of eating healthily and exercising -- also had a decrease in hormones linked with breast cancer.
